Why we are leaving the Minecraft marketplace

And what we will be doing instead...

We have some big news to share with you.

After eight incredible years pushing the boundaries of Minecraft, Everbloom Games is making a major shift—we are officially leaving the Minecraft Marketplace behind and stepping fully into indie game development!

This has always been part of our long-term vision. While we’ve loved creating groundbreaking Minecraft experiences, we’ve found ourselves dreaming bigger—beyond the limits of what Minecraft can offer. Now, it’s time to make those dreams a reality.

How did we get here?

2024 was a challenging year for us. Despite the success of our high-profile projects, the evolving nature of the Minecraft Marketplace has made it increasingly difficult to sustain large-scale, high-quality adventure maps. As the marketplace has opened up to more creators and content types like add-ons, the demand for blockbuster adventure maps has declined.

As our ambitions have grown, so has the realization that we need a new creative space to bring our ideas to life. That’s why we’ve made the decision to transition fully into indie game development.

What are we making?

For the past seven months, we’ve been meeting, prototyping, and brainstorming what our first indie game will be. We’re thrilled to finally share that we’ve settled on an idea that we’re incredibly excited about: a roguelite boss-rush game for up to four players—think the best parts of MMORPG raids mixed with a roguelite format! We can’t wait to show you more over the coming year.

How you can support us

While our focus is now on indie game development, you can still support us by purchasing our existing Minecraft maps, which remain our primary income stream and give us the creative freedom to develop our new game.

We also have one final adventure map in the works, Pufferfish vs Dragon, as well as an add-on version of our popular ANIMALS map, which will feature many new creatures. These will be our last releases in the Minecraft space.

We’re not rebranding or changing our social media, so you can continue to follow us in all the usual places for updates. To get exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at our new game, join our Discord server—we’d love to have you along for the journey.

Everbloom Games would not be here without your support. You’ve helped us turn our passion into a reality, and now, you’re helping us take this next step toward creating something even bigger. Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to share what’s next!

With gratitude,
The Everbloom Games Team
